Event Description
Paparazzi or Pedagogy
Presented by
Clare Comedoy

Drawing from courageous conversations with educators, we’ll explore how photography can move beyond “capturing cute moments” to becoming a language of learning and reflection. We’ll look at the tension between celebration and consent, storytelling and ownership, and the rights of the child in an image-saturated culture.
Through real examples and shared inquiry, we’ll unpack how thoughtful, intentional photography can, honour the dignity and agency of children and provoke professional reflection
By the end of this webinar, you'll be able to:
• Critically examine how photography shapes the stories we tell about children, learning, and identity.
• Apply principles of consent, dignity, and rights to everyday documentation that honours children and builds trust with families.
• Use photography as a reflective and intentional practice that deepens pedagogy and celebrates children’s agency.
This is not about putting down the camera. It’s about lifting it with purpose.
