Help Me From Sinking: Survival Skills for Early Childhood Leaders
Presented by
2 days - 9am to 3pm - Thu 4th Mar + Fri 5th Mar

Most Room Leaders, Service Managers and Educational Leaders did not step into their role because they wanted to manage people. They became a leader because they were a wonderful educator, and somewhere along the way someone handed them a roster, a performance review template and a parent complaint.
What follows is often a quiet kind of sinking: reacting rather than leading, difficult conversations postponed, a team that works alongside each other rather than with each other, and a nagging sense that the leader they meant to be has gone missing under the compliance deadlines.
Survival Skills for Early Childhood Leaders is built for exactly that moment. Over two days, Colin Slattery and Anthony Semann work with leaders on the shift from reactive to intentional, and the practical skill of having the conversations that matter, with parents, with staff and with themselves.
By the end of the two days, you will:
-
Have a personal practice for pausing before you react, instead of after
-
Know what success means to you, on your own terms, not someone else's
-
Be able to give feedback that builds someone up rather than putting them on the defensive
-
Tell the difference between a group that shares a roster and a team that shares a goal
-
Walk into a hard conversation, with a parent, a colleague or an underperforming staff member, with a structure that holds both accountability and care
-
Leave with one real leadership commitment and a colleague who will help you keep it
