Light bends, reflects, travels, disappears and transforms. It creates shadow, colour and movement, offering rich possibilities for children to experiment, wonder and build theories about their world.

Rather than offering a collection of activities to replicate, this one-hour webinar will help you become more confident in noticing the possibilities already around you and creating conditions where children can explore light with curiosity, creativity and wonder.

You’ll explore how to:

• deepen your understanding of light as a phenomenon and material
• notice light, shadow, reflection, colour and movement within everyday environments
• recognise possibilities for inquiry without relying on predetermined activities
• design conditions that invite children to experiment, test ideas and build theories
• become more confident working alongside children when you don’t already know where an inquiry will lead.
