Event Description
Beneath The Behaviour - A Full-Day Masterclass in Guiding Children's Behaviour
Presented by

There is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from managing behaviour you do not understand. The child who calls out through every group time. The toddler who cannot make it through a transition without falling apart. The moment you hear yourself say they know the rules, and wonder why it still is not working.
Beneath the Behaviour is a full day for educators who are ready to stop managing behaviour and start understanding it. Working with Anthony Semann, you will trace behaviour back to what is actually happening in a child's brain and body, learn to read the signal underneath the behaviour rather than reacting to its surface, and build a small set of intentional responses, co-regulation, emotional literacy and purposeful redirection, that hold a boundary without breaking a relationship.
You will leave with a different question in your head. Not how do I stop this, but what is this behaviour telling me, and the practical means to answer it, in the room, tomorrow.
By the end of the day, you will:
-
Understand what is actually happening in a child's brain and body when behaviour escalates, and why age and stage change what you can reasonably expect
-
Be able to reframe a behaviour in the moment, from what is wrong with this child to what is this behaviour telling me
-
Have a small set of intentional responses ready to use on the floor: co-regulation, emotional literacy, purposeful redirection and calm, connected boundary setting
-
Know how to repair and reconnect with a child after a hard moment, and how to talk with families about behaviour without judgement
-
Leave with one change to your own practice that you will try tomorrow
