Behaviours that challenge: Tips and traps

Unpack teaching strategies to support you and the children through some of the more common 'challenging' times in your daily routine APST 4: Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments Presented by Philip Butler

Description

This webinar will unpack some teaching strategies and techniques to support you and the children through some of the more common 'challenging' times in your daily routine. The content does not focus on supporting children with diagnosed needs but rather the undiagnosed children who can still challenge and stretch our abilities daily. While these children do not have a diagnosed area of need, there is still much we can do every day to support, build and guide them to a more inclusive, consistent and relaxed learning style.

Learning goals:

  • identify areas in curriculum and pedagogy that can lead to supporting the development of pro-social skills
  • develop a greater awareness of the internal and external stressors on children's wellbeing and development
  • build confidence around discussing and documenting more challenging situations and interactions.

Completing Behaviours that challenge: Tips and traps may contribute one-hour of PD that aligns with the NESA (NSW) approved criteria and addresses:

The Australian Professionals Standards for Teachers: APST 4: Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments

Early Years Learning Framework Learning Outcomes: Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators

The National Quality Standard: QA 5: Relationships with children
