APST 3: Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning Presented by Louise Dorrat
Description
Literacy in the early years’ context includes the creative arts such as music, movement, dance and storytelling (NQS 2018). The creative arts are a fundamental part of life and have the power to transport children to different places to become someone or something else. As educators, we need to ensure that a child’s right to creative experiences is celebrated in our educational programs – the dramatic arts through voice, poetry, stories, rhymes, chants, puppets, music, and dance should be embedded in the curriculum every day. In its many representations, the Arts can be intimidating for those with no background in this topic.
Completing Music, storytelling and dance; Get your mojo back may contribute one hour of PD that aligns with the NESA (NSW) criteria for Elective PD and addresses:
The Australian Professionals Standards for Teachers: APST 3: Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning
The National Quality Standard: QA 1: Educational program and practice
