Learning stories, narratives, assessment of learning, goals for children's learning, planning cycles, summative assessment – what do these documents have in common? They all started with noticing and observing the child. However, suppose our observations of children's learnings are not founded on a clear understanding of what to write down, when to write it down, how to write it down, and what to do with it. In that case, we are simply gathering lots and lots of information that's of no value to you, the child, or the family. This webinar is a great place to start clarifying your understanding of observing children and some of the possibilities for documentation of these observations and noticings.
