A suite of professional support

EARLY YEARS ASSESSMENT AND LEARNING TOOL (EYALT) VIRTUAL PROFESSIONAL LEARNING

The Victorian Department of Education have collaborated with Semann & Slattery to offer a suite of professional supports to funded kindergarten providers who are registered to use the EYALT.

These professional learning programs support educators and teachers to understand and support assessment in an early childhood context, and the role of the EYALT in this process.

EYALT Introductory Professional Learning Program 1 to 5 years of teaching experience

This EYALT Introductory session is targeted at educators and teachers with 1 to 5 years of teaching experience. The purpose of this professional learning program is to support educators and teachers to engage in learning related to the EYALT and develop a greater understanding of the EYALT and how it supports assessment of children’s learning and development.

This EYALT Q&A Drop in Session provides an opportunity for kindergarten program staff to seek support related to engaging with the EYALT. Delivered in a Q&A format, participants are welcomed to join these sessions with any questions or topics they need support with. This drop in session is also useful for those without questions to continue in developing a greater understanding of the EYALT and how it supports assessment of children’s learning and development.

EYALT Coaching Sessions

The EYALT Coaching Sessions provide participants with practical group coaching focusing on how to use the EYALT in a live environment. Each of the one-hour small group sessions will cover a particular EYALT module (e.g. Module Communication – Symbols and Text). This guided process will support educators and teachers to use the EYALT in an interactive learning environment and assist in completing an EYALT module during a coaching session.

EYALT Community of Practice

During the Community of Practice (CoP) sessions, the facilitator will encourage participants to lead a process of inquiry around specific topics focusing on how the EYALT supports their practice. Each CoP will run over 3 consecutive one-and-a-half sessions, each building on the previous session. Participants can choose to attend one or more CoPs based on their needs, but are encouraged to attend each of the 3 sessions of their chosen topic/s. Please note when registering via the below link you will be automatically registered for all 3 session times within your chosen CoP.
