Event Description
Reframing Invitations for Teaching and Learning Alongside Children: A Call for Pedagogical Kindness (Part 4)
Presented by
Dr Deborah Harcourt

Drawing on the Educational Leadership Conference presentations in August, this re-imagining of teaching and learning retraces Deborah's last three sessions by asking how we can raise our voices in defense of children's right to learn and theorise in a space of pedagogical kindness: one that fosters critical thinking, empathy, compassion, generosity, collaboration and creativity, within a curriculum focused on intellectual integrity.
Completing Reframing invitations for teaching and learning alongside children: A call for pedagogical kindness (part 4) may contribute one-hour of PD that aligns with the NESA (NSW) approved criteria and addresses:
The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers: APST 4: Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments
Early Years Learning Framework Learning Outcomes: Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
The National Quality Standard: QA 5: Relationships with children
