Dr. Gai Lindsay career goal is for all children and the adults in their lives to experience the joy of mark-making through meaningful and empowering visual arts learning experiences. Following more than twenty years as a preschool teacher, director and early childhood consultant, Gai completed her PhD thesis to learn about the visual arts beliefs and pedagogy of early childhood educators. She is now is a senior lecturer in the birth to five Early Years degree at the University of Wollongong. Her sources of inspiration include John Dewey’s philosophies of art, democracy and education and the constructivist Reggio Emilia approach. She is currently engaged in research exploring visual arts pedagogy and professional learning. Gai enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travelling, reading, quilting, drawing, painting, printmaking and watching a great movie or series.
