Presented by Anthony Semann How to keep children safe by understanding and using the Child Safe Standards
Description
The Child Safe Standards aim to ensure the safety and well-being of children in organisations. These standards require organisations that work with children to implement measures to prevent child abuse and neglect. They include screening staff and volunteers, educating staff on child safety, developing policies and procedures to address child safety concerns, and creating a culture prioritising child protection. The standards promote a safe environment where children can thrive free from harm or exploitation.
Completing Child Safe Standards - what you need to know and how to make it happen may contribute one-hour of PD that aligns with the NESA (NSW) criteria for Elective PD and addresses:
The Australian Professionals Standards for Teachers: APST 4: Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments
The National Quality Standard: QA 2: Children’s health and safety
