Planning and setting up outdoor environments: more than free play

Presented by Anthony Semann

Description

The outdoors matters as much as the indoors and requires as much attention and thought as any other play and learning space. In this webinar we will explore how to set up an outdoor play space including what can be introduced to the space and how to plan for children’s learning. This practical session will include examples of outdoor planning documents as well as set ups. It will equip the participants to ensure their outdoor environments are valued as much as the indoor spaces and offer children the opportunity to engage in learning and project work.

Completing Planning and setting up outdoor environments: more than free play may contribute one hour of PD that aligns with the NESA (NSW) criteria for Elective PD and addresses:

The Australian Professionals Standards for Teachers: APST 4: Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments

Early Years Learning Framework Learning Outcomes: Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing

The National Quality Standard:QA 3: Physical environment
