Description
Communication's importance is often discussed. We know that positive communication is needed to develop and enhance relationships. Positive communication within a service is an enabler of positive organisational performance. But what is positive communication, and what specific supportive communication approaches can I use within my team?
This webinar will explore some elements of supportive communication from the field of positive psychology and how this can enable flourishing interpersonal relationships. We will explore ways to communicate supportively when things are going well and when we need to deal with uncomfortable issues. This can guide professional collaboration and positive working relationships and enable us to challenge and learn from each other in supportive ways.
Completing Positive communication in an EC team - what does supportive communication look like? may contribute one hour of PD that aligns with the NESA (NSW) criteria for Elective PD and addresses:
The Australian Professionals Standards for Teachers: APST 7: Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community
Early Years Learning Framework Learning Outcomes: Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators
