The Terrific Twos

Meaningful curriculum for the ever-inquisitive 2—to 3-year-old APST 1: Know children and how they learn Presented by Philip Butler

Description

On most days, a quality setting for 2 to 3-year-olds will be a whirlwind of activity, conversation, creativity, big emotions, and intense delight.

Building an educational program around all these dynamics can be challenging on the best days and near impossible on the worst.

This webinar will examine what a curriculum can look like for the ever-inquisitive 2—to 3-year-old and how this can be turned into an ongoing, meaningful, engaging educational program.

With so much going on, how do you capture it all? This leads to the big question: How much documentation is too much? How do you share all the fantastic learning opportunities and challenges with the families without feeling like you are just creating content for a child's media page?

We will also have a chance to look at some inspiring environments and discuss the importance of the environment's impact on the learning and emotional tone of the learning space.

Completing The Terrific Twos may contribute one hour of PD that aligns with the NESA (NSW) criteria for Elective PD and addresses:

The Australian Professionals Standards for Teachers: APST 1: Know children and how they learn

Early Years Learning Framework Learning Outcomes: Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators

The National Quality Standard: QA 5: Relationships with children
