Slow pedagogy: Learning a new tempo of teaching and learning

Description

‘Too often the pacing is driven by the content’ (Shaw). Educators often report feeling like their day is so fast paced, so punctuated with routines, that they and the children in their classrooms miss opportunities to connect, enjoy being and swimming in the deep end of content. WHY? In this webinar we will explore what slow pedagogy means, how we create a new tempo and how we can enjoy teaching and learning in a way which honours the pace of a new and more measured tempo.

Completing Slow pedagogy: Learning a new tempo of teaching and learning contributes one hour of PD that aligns with the NESA (NSW) criteria for Elective PD and addresses:

The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers: Professional Practice APST 3: Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning

The Early Years Learning Framework Learning Outcomes: Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners

The National Quality Standards: QA 1: Educational program and practice
