Description
What are our hopes and dreams? What do children hope and dream for themselves and their lives? Paperwork and programming requirements are a source of anxiety, stress, pressure and burnout for so many educators in our profession. Does it have to be this way? In this session, we reimagine our planning and documenting as something inspiring, creative and generative. A way to visualise the hopes and dreams we have for the children we work with (and that they have for themselves). And a way to re-energise and sustain ourselves through the daily demands of our work.
Reframe your planning and programming as play.. as creativity...as inspiration, and still meet NQS requirements. And be prepared to dream big!
Learning goals:
- Explore key elements of the planning cycle
- Critically reflect on your image of the child and how it informs planning
- Identify contemporary theoretical principles in relation to learning and child development
Completing Dreaming Big - Reimagining our planning contributes one hour of PD that aligns with the criteria for NESA Elective PD and addresses:
The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers: APST 3: Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning
The Early Years Learning Framework Outcomes: Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners
The National Quality Standard: QA 1: Educational program and practice
