In this workshop, a qualified Speech Language Pathologist will unpack the critical knowledge required to understand language development. You will gain an understanding of language development in the under 5-year-old age group as well as some of the more common language delays and disorders that educators may encounter in their work with children.
Topic areas include:
- receptive language development (comprehension)
- what to expect and when
- express language development, including vocabulary development
- common language delays
- use of augmentative communication for complex communication needs
Completing Language development for under 5s contributes one hour of PD that aligns with the NESA (NSW) criteria for Elective PD and addresses:
