Event Description
Empowerment in Early Childhood Education
Presented by
Josh Allen

Empowerment is an increasingly important concept in both education and society; yet, a gap remains in research and support for teachers in fully understanding what it truly means for them and the children in their care. Josh Allen’s innovative PhD explores this complex concept and its implications in early childhood education. In this professional development session, Josh will guide teachers through key questions: Who should hold the power in education? How do we balance individual children's power with collective wellbeing? What role does empowerment play in societal change? Josh will argue that empowerment must be at the core of educational practices-not only in how we support children, but in how we engage with families, colleagues, and the broader community.
