Event Description
Starting School Together: A Connected Approach to Transitioning with Children and Families
Presented by

Starting school is an exciting milestone.
It’s also a time of change, not just for children, but for their families too.
Alongside the anticipation can come questions, uncertainty, and a need for reassurance that everything, and everyone, will be okay.
Through reflecting on our own practice, we recognised the importance of slowing down and looking more closely at how we support this transition. Not just as a process, but as an experience shaped by relationships, trust, and a sense of belonging.
In response, we developed a more intentional and responsive approach. One that places children and families at the centre, and values connection as the foundation for a positive start to school.
In this webinar, we’ll share how we work collaboratively with children, families, and school communities to support transitions that feel smooth, respectful, and meaningful.
You’ll explore practical strategies to:
-
support each child and family as individuals
-
build strong, trusting relationships throughout the transition process
-
strengthen connections with local schools
-
foster children’s confidence and sense of belonging as they begin school
This webinar offers an opportunity to reflect on your own approach and consider how small, thoughtful shifts can make a big difference in how children and families experience the move to school.
