Event Description
The Joy of Cooking with Children: A Multisensory, Collaborative Celebration
Presented by

Some of the richest learning happens around a kitchen bench, where children gather with curiosity, purpose and a shared goal.
Cooking invites children to contribute in meaningful ways. They harvest, chop, stir, mix and taste. In doing so, they engage their senses while building confidence, communication and relationships. Every recipe becomes an opportunity to honour family traditions, celebrate culture and co-create new ideas together.
This webinar explores how everyday cooking experiences can strengthen belonging, support children’s agency and transform routine moments into powerful learning that connects home, community and educational practice.
Together we’ll explore how to:
- create multisensory cooking experiences that inspire curiosity, confidence and joyful participation
- weave children’s family knowledge, cultural traditions and stories into shared food experiences
- use recipes, conversation and collaboration to enrich literacy, communication and problem-solving
- foster respect, responsibility and community through preparing, sharing and caring for shared spaces
When children cook together, they’re building memories, relationships, and a deep sense of belonging where their ideas matter and sharing a meal becomes meaningful learning.
