Description
Version 2 of the EYLF ‘Sustainability’ features as one of the fundamental underlying Principles. This 2 part series will explore and unpack just what is involved, and how it can be embedded in practice - leaving you empowered and inspired to work together with children to make a real difference to our world now, and for generations to come.
Part 2
This session will build on the understandings generated in the first session to consider how we can work with exceeding themes around sustainability. We will explore how the EYLF relates Sustainability to Pedagogy, critically reflecting and playing with key theoretical perspectives (as included in the EYLF) and diving deeper into Indigenous cosmologies and how they might inform our practice in this area in. We will also consider how we might embed sustainability in ongoing operations in meaningful and authentic ways.
Completing Part 2: Sustainability in Principle and Practice - Unpacking the new EYLF Principle may contribute one-hour of PD that aligns with the NESA (NSW) criteria for Elective PD and addresses:
The Australian Professionals Standards for Teachers: APST 7: Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community
